Happy Valentine's Day you guys!! Today, I just wanted to post a story time video where I tell you about a past Valentine's Day experience just to give you all a little V-Day laugh. I also give a little talk at the end discussing the day and my personal opinion on it. I hope you all enjoy!
Hey guys! With this being my first post of 2016, I want to start off by telling you all that I hope your New Year is going well and that you are making the most out of every minute. It's only the beginning of February and this year seems like it will be a great one for me. I have so many goals that I want to accomplish this year and I pray that God continues to bring me closer each day.
Last year, a major goal of mines was to graduate from college. Getting a college diploma has always been a big deal to me because it was something that no one in my family had done. Receiving a college degree was important to me because I wanted to break the cycle and prove to my family that it's possible for us to do this.
On May 15th, 2015, I graduated from Louisiana State University and I have to admit that it is a day that I will never forget! I was so grateful to have the support from all of my family and close friends and I wanted to make a video to showcase that. I am also thankful for the experience that I received while I was at LSU and all the unforgettable people that I met. I am so blessed for all of my college memories and friends (even if they aren't in this video), because those very things and people helped to mold me into the woman that I am today, along with my friends and family that have been there since day one. I hope that you all enjoy the video and thank you for continuing to support me.
Back when I started my blog, 3 years ago to be exact, I would have never imagined that I would get to this point. In no way was I pessimistic, but it just started off as a idea that I wanted to experiment with. Now, I'm truly amazed by the fact that my idea to start a fashion/lifestyle blog became a reality that emerged from a hobby to a lifestyle. I've watched myself evolve as a blogger by upgrading my equipment, content quality, & editing skills over the years and I feel like things are only going to get better as time continues on. Last year, I made a little over 22,500 views and I set a goal to make 24,000 views (2,000 views a month) for 2015. In total, I received over 62,800 views this year which is over double my goal and almost triple of what I made the year prior. This wouldn't have been possible without you all! I am so blessed to have so many supporters that constantly check out my blog, even when I slack up on posting new videos. It's so much content out on the internet and the fact that you came here to my blog means so much to me.
I pray that in 2016, I can make my blog much better and improve on uploading new post more frequently. I also hope that I can continue to entertain, educate, and empower my viewers with my content. Once again, thank you for helping me make my idea a reality.
Hey you guys! First off, I just want to say thank you! Thank you for visiting the site today and also I want to thank everyone that's been keeping up with the site, even when I don't post. I know that it's been a while since I did a lookbook but I felt like I had to get one out to give you all for some Fall Inspiration. I got a couple new pieces and I wanted to mix them with some pieces that I already had in my closet. This goes to show you that you don't always have to buy a completely new wardrobe to change it up a bit. Just find some pieces that stand out to you and figure out a way to incorporate it with what you already have. The outfit details will be listed below. I hope you all enjoy this video and be on the look out because I also want to do a lookbook on how to wear a fur vest. Later!
*Disclosure: Majority of the stuff won't be the exact same thing since a lot of it is pieces that I've had for years, but I tried to find things that are similar.*

Hey guys! I am so excited because I finally got myself a new computer which means... MORE POSTS & VIDEOS! But until I start posting new videos, I want to catch you all up on some videos that I've already filmed. I filmed this video a few months ago and I finally got around to editing it yesterday. In this video, I show you all my graduation gifts, things that I brought & I also discuss my Graduation Vlog that I plan to edit and post soon. I hope you all enjoy and be on the look out for more videos. :)
Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since I made a post, but I'm back!! Everything has been so crazy since I've graduated! The reason for the delay was because I have been receiving a 'warm' welcome into the REAL world & the reality of life after college (Moving, Work, Bills, & Lack of Free Time). I plan to make a video talking about all of those things, but for right now, I want to give you all advice on How To Survive College. Now I know that some of you may already be in college, have graduated, or didn't attend college, and if that's the case, pass it on to someone that you think it will help. It doesn't matter if they are a freshman, senior or even still in high school preparing for college, this may help them. How To Survive College will be a 3-part series of Real Talk videos to help students survive Academically, Socially & Personally. In this Intro. video, I tell 4 important websites to help you while in college. This is before I give more really good college advice in Part 2. Make sure you watch and share. Also, stay tuned for the other parts because they will be coming soon.
Lately, I've been told that I look exotic whenever I do my makeup a little extra. So in the video, I will show you how to exaggerate your God-given features for an exotic look. This look gives the illusion of higher cheek-bones, a slimmer nose, a smaller forehead, sultry eyes and luscious lips. Hope you all enjoy!

Hey you guys! I am so happy to FINALLY be posting this video. You don't even understand!! I have been wanting to do this for over a year and now it's done. Some of these clips were filmed last year and some were filmed recently. Although it's almost Summer and camouflage is usually a Fall print, I wear it year-round. You guys know I don't follow the rules, and in this case, you don't have to either. It's ok to go a little Camo Crazy. Outfit details are below. Hope you enjoy!
Can you believe that this is a men's T-shirt!? I found it while in the attic this past December while I was searching for Christmas stuff. When I saw it, I immediately thought, "I can work with this"! It was easy. All I did was add a gold statement belt & some boots and there was my simple and inexpensive outfit.
For this outfit, I wanted to give off a more militant vibe. I paired these loose camo pants with a fitted military jacket to balance out the look. You can also wear this outfit without the jacket with just a tank top. Pair it with some black combat boots and your look is complete.
This is a more feminine look that can easily be achieved by mixing the camo print with a soft, neutral or pastel color. I chose a nude pink with wedges and a clutch to match. I also kept it cute by adding a pair of shades and dangly earrings.
This is another really easy look to achieve! Everyone has a pair of jeans! I chose high-waisted ones, but you can wear boyfriend jeans, distressed jeans or even jean shorts with a camo blouse like this. The thing that really makes this look stand out is having a bag that pops! I chose a mustard yellow bag and keep the rest simple with camel-colored sandals.
Look 5 & 6
I wanted to show that camo is a print that you can dress up or down by doing something as simple as changing the shoes. It's your choice. I chose to tuck my camo shirt into my favorite leather skirt. Yes, this is the same skirt that sold-out on my site 2 years ago and i'm still rocking it! I added a cute statement piece bracelet that I got from Target and my black Aldo clutch. I wore the combat boots in look 5 for a more casual look and switched into heels for a more dressy outfit in look 6.
Since today will be our first Empire-less Wednesday, I decided to post a video that I filmed a few weeks ago discussing the division amongst the black community. I feel that in order for us to be successful in fighting the system, we have to stop fighting amongst each other. We sometimes find any reason to divide ourselves and it's very counterproductive to the movement that we could make if we stood together. We have to remember that "United We Stand, Divided We Fall". In this video, I touch on issues ranging from the beef between African Americans at PWI's vs. the African Americans at HBCU's, the lightskin vs. darkskin battle and the origins of that division, the first Bus Boycott that started in my hometown, Baton Rouge, La. , and the Little Rock Nine. I hope you guys enjoy this video and feel free to comment.
Hey you guys! I know that it's been about a month in a half, but I am so happy to be back editing. I have been crazy busy with school, work, family, and getting ready for graduation that I haven't been having time to edit all these videos that I've been filming. It's ok though, I am trying to get back on it. In this video, I wanted to give you all my 10 favorites! These are things that I've been obsessing over and I want you all to know so that you can see for yourselves. I will have them listed & where you can find them linked below.
